Coronavirus ship in the Mediterranean

6,000 passengers are on ‘lockdown’ on the cruise ship Costa Smerelda.

The ship is known to be carrying a couple from Hong Kong who have been declared as suffering symptoms similar to those reported as the Coronavirus.

It’s believed that the couple boarded in Italy and doctors are now on board assessing the situation. Unfortunately for the remaining passengers this means that the ship is in a state of quarantine and they must also remain on board whilst medical checks are carried out.

A spokesman said, ‘this may take hours’.
